Who is a good fit for Leading with Quality?

Most clients are mid- to senior-level professionals in tech, consulting, or professional services who are already performing well but want more clarity, confidence, and strategic influence. If you’re open to feedback, willing to experiment, and ready to commit time to reflection and action, you’re likely a strong fit.

How are sessions delivered?

Sessions are typically held via video call, with optional phone sessions if preferred. You’ll receive a calendar link to schedule or adjust sessions, and a shared workspace (such as a document or board) where we track goals, actions, and insights.

How are you different from other coaches and mentors?

Most coaches give you a cookie-cutter framework and a prayer. They focus on symptoms like "low velocity" without looking at the root causes. I review your entire workflow to determine where we’ll get the best ROI for your time. I provide an X-ray view of your delivery pipeline using DORA metrics. I’ll help you fix the operating system so you can stop being a gap-filler. It’s a blend of software quality engineering and systems thinking.

Can my company sponsor or cover the cost?

In many cases, yes. Many organizations support leadership development and executive coaching. I can provide a proposal and summary of objectives that align with your company’s priorities to support sponsorship or reimbursement.

What if I've already tried other programs and they didn't work?

Generic programs usually fail because they lack the "glue work" needed to make them stick. They give you information, but they don't give you personalized support for your specific "snowflake" codebase. We’ll focus on the mindset shifts and the accountability you need to make the change sustainable. This isn't another course to finish; it's a partnership to fix your team's friction.

How do I know if I'm ready for this?

You’re ready if you’re tired of the same "survival mode" patterns. You don't need to have it all figured out yet. You just need to be willing to be honest about what isn't working. If you’re ready to stop coding your way out of every problem, you’re ready.

What is the time commitment beyond sessions?

Most clients invest 30–60 minutes between sessions applying tools, reflecting, or preparing for key conversations. The goal is to embed coaching into work you’re already doing, not create extra homework for its own sake.

What if I'm not sure this will work for MY specific situation?

I’ve worked across many domains, and the core transformation process holds up. That said, I don't do cookie-cutter programs. Everything we do is tailored to your team, your toolchain, and your context. The best way to be sure is to book an intro call and share your specific blockers.

What kind of results can I expect, and how quickly?

You’ll usually feel a shift in friction and focus within the first 2-3 weeks. Bigger transformations, such as moving out of a "feature factory," usually take 8-12 weeks. Some people see measurable improvements in their delivery pipeline in the first 10 days. It depends on how quickly you’re willing to implement the changes.

What happens if I don't see results?

I’m as invested in your team’s success as you are. We check in regularly to make sure you’re making progress, and we adjust as needed. Coaching is a partnership; I’ll bring the expertise, but you have to do the work. If things aren't working, we’ll have a direct conversation and fix the approach.

Is this really worth the investment?

The real question is: what is it costing you to stay in survival mode? If you stay stuck as a gap-filler, you’re losing time, money, and sanity. This isn't just about our sessions; it's about the systems you’ll use for the rest of your career. You’ll learn to manage up with data and lead with clarity. Most clients find this is the best investment they’ve made in their professional growth.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. You can pay in full or choose biweekly payments. I want you to focus on leading, not financial stress.

What if I don't have time for this right now?

If you don't make time to fix the system, you’ll keep losing time to the same fires. My programs are built for people who are already drowning. We typically need only 1 to 3 hours per week. You’ll likely get that time back almost immediately through better focus.

What's your coaching style?

I’m a "wise peer" who has survived the "shit umbrella" phase. I’m calm, direct, and action-oriented. I won't give you therapy, but I will ask the tough questions about your patterns. I’ll be the shield for your team while we build a better way to work.

How long is the program?

Each package has a specified duration. We’re aiming for lasting change, not a superficial fix. Most transformations require 8-12 weeks to really take root.

How often do we meet?

For most packages, we meet bi-weekly for 60 minutes via Google Meet. This builds the momentum and accountability you need to stay on track. You can also reach me via email between sessions if you hit a blocker.

What if I need to reschedule?

Life happens. Just give me at least 24 hours' notice, and we’ll move it. Last-minute cancellations may result in forfeiture of the session, depending on the situation.

Do you offer a free introductory call?

Yes. It’s a 30-minute call to see if we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure and no sales pitch. It’s just an honest conversation about your goals and my approach.

Do you work with people outside of the PST timezone?

Yes. I work with clients worldwide. I typically coach between 8 am and 4 pm PST. We’ll find a time that works for both of us.

What if I want to continue working together after the program ends?

Many clients move into a monthly coaching rhythm or a different program. We can discuss what makes the most sense once we have completed our initial sessions. I’m here as long as I’m adding value.

What happens if we're not a good fit?

If I don't think I can help you, I’ll tell you. I expect you to do the same. I want you to have the right support, even if it isn't from me. If we aren't a match, I’ll try to point you toward someone who is.
